Helpful Tips On How To Take Care Of Your Flower

A flower gives an accent to your our surroundings. It beautifies your home and leaves a very interesting smell. Here are some tips on how will you take good care of flower arrangement. This may only take a few minutes of your precious time. Try it and have your beautiful cut flowers stay fresh longer and beautiful. There are few simple ways on how to take care of your cut flowers. This may sound easy, all you need to do is follow the suggestions below:

Keep your flower vase filled or soaked with water, put a little floral food that you may buy from your local flower shop or from your favourite florist. This flower preservatives, also known as food for your flower is  usually combined with a little amount of water, this must be combined or mixed with a few drops of water. The amount of water needed is mentioned on the procedure or can be seen on the packaging.

Look for firm and erected petals, with buds about to open up when you select your cut flowers arrangements. The signs of flower aging can be seen when your stems or leaves are drooping and when it have spots or yellowish in colour

By adding artificial nutrients or flower preservatives in your water vase, this may keep your flower fresh and prolong the life of each and every cut flowers. The powder preservatives or flower food contains sugar which feeds your flowers. It also acts as an acid that lowers down the PH of your water solution. This mixture gets purified and can eliminate the germs and bacteria that may clog your flower’s stem. Flower food or preservative should be added to prolong the life of your flower arrangement. You may buy this from your florist or local flower shop.

You have to change your flower solution or mixture in your flower vase when its already dirty and smelly. If you will not replace it, germs and bacteria will grow in your water. Always cut the tip of your flower stem, one to two inches using a pair of scissors or a sharp knife, remember not to use your hands.

Use a sharp pair of gardening scissors rather than picking it up using your bare fingers, remember to cut your flowers in the morning or late in the afternoon (almost evening) when flowers are water and moist. Place them into a water vase containing lukewarm water. Other types of flowers grow from bulbs preferred cold water.

Keep your flowers away from sunlight or near hot objects like fans, vents, radiators or even near the television because this can dry up or dehydrate your flower arrangements. Flowers usually last longer or stays fresh when they are on dark or cool areas, around 61 to 71 degrees fahrenheit is recommended.

Cut 1 to 3 inches of your flowers stem, this seals the water so that air may not clog your stem.
